Paris Hilton has a No. 1 fan in her son!
On Saturday, April 20, the reality TV star and musician, 43, shared a video on Instagram showing off her son Phoenix’s dancing skills as the pair listened to her new song “Fame Won’t Love You” with Sia.
In the short clip, Hilton and the 15-month old could be seen posing together during a photo shoot when the track began playing in the background. In an adorable reaction to hearing his mom’s song for the first time, Phoenix immediately clapped his hands and said, “Yay!”
“Watching baby Phoenix listen to ‘Fame Won’t Love You,’ my new song with @siamusic, melted my heart🥹👶🏼,” the Simple Life alum wrote in the caption of the post, before sharing the streaming info with her fans. “This beautiful song is out now and inspired by my enlightening journey into motherhood 💖.”
Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, who tied the knot in 2021, welcomed Phoenix via a surrogate in January 2023 and daughter London, also via a surrogate, in November 2023.
“Fame Won’t Love You,” which was released on April 19, will be featured on Sia’s forthcoming album, Reasonable Woman. The musician is also set to serve as the executive producer of Hilton’s next album — her first since 2006’s Paris.
In an interview with Billboard earlier this week, Hilton spoke about wanting to move away from her notorious baby voice-style singing that she was known for in the 2000s.
“Being in the studio with Sia at her house, I literally didn’t even know I could sing the way I did. She brought something out of me that nobody ever has. Because I never ever really felt comfortable with people in the studio,” she told the outlet.
“I feel like this whole past year has been about reclaiming my voice — emotionally, physically, in every single way,” she added. “It was almost like my real voice came through to my music instead of the voice that everyone would expect, the sexy, kind of breathy baby doll voice.”
In the same interview, Sia also praised her collaborator’s new voice — both in terms of singing and lyrics.
“You really let your freak flag fly. It was amazing. You just put your fists down and sort of of stomped on the ground and sang in the loudest voice I’ve ever heard you sing,” the “Cheap Thrills” musician said. “It was so beautiful. It was like a liberation of sorts.”
The new song features candid lyrics from Sia and Hilton, as they croon about the downsides of fame.
“Little dreams come crashing / Let them wave in passing / ‘Cause fame won’t love you like a mother, like a father should / And you may wish for Oscars / Grammys and blockbusters / ‘Cause fame won’t love you like a brother, like a lover should,” the two sing on the reflective duet.
Hilton told Billboard of working with Sia, “I was so excited, because I’ve always been such a huge fan. Sia is the greatest songwriter of our time. She’s so brilliant, so talented and just so amazing. So this has just been a dream come true. She’s one of the kindest, sweetest angels, and I feel that she really came into my life for a reason.”
