The puppy was afflicted with distemper and realized she was on the brink of death. When she saw someone passing by, she made one last plea for help.
Distemper, an infectious virus that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and central nervous systems of dogs, is a leading cause of death among unvaccinated street dogs and is often fatal.
In this video, we see the staff of Animal Help Unlimited attempting to rescue a young homeless puppy suffering from distemper.
The dog had been infected for weeks but had received no treatment because she was homeless. She was eventually found collapsed by a roadside, wagging her tail in a hopeful bid for rescue
The rescue team understood that the dog was dying, but they were determined to give her a chance to recover. She received intensive care for two weeks, which included antibiotics and fluids.
Despite her severe pain, the dog was thankful to be cared for by humans for the first time in her life.
She was gradually improving each day! It was a magical moment for the grooming team when the puppy regained the strength to stand on all fours and walk again.
She was so thrilled with her progress that she ran towards her rescuers and embraced them tightly. Her bright smiles and incessant tail wagging brightened our day!
