Tintin, who has lost one of his front legs and has a handicap in the other, was first abandoned by a woman, only to be returned to his family. However, a few hours later, Tintin was abandoned again, this time by the woman’s husband.
This heartbreaking series of events took place in the city of Sao Leopoldo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil. A video of these incidents was shared on Facebook, where it has received over 220,000 views and hundreds of comments.
The video shows a white car pulling over to the side of the road. The female driver opens the rear door, and two dogs run out. She entices the black dog to climb back into the back seat, before forcibly shoving the crippled dog, Tintin, away. Tintin is seen limping after the woman as she drives away.
According to local media, after being returned to the family, Tintin was abandoned for the second time in the same day. The woman’s husband moved him to another area and left him alone.
Fortunately, Tintin was rescued and is now in the care of local animal protection agencies. Following the release of the video on social media, more than 30 individuals have volunteered to adopt Tintin, who was born with his disabilities.
Meanwhile, local officials are reportedly investigating the animal’s abandonment. Despite the hardships Tintin has faced, his story serves as a reminder of the resilience of animals and the kindness of those who step in to help.
