‘BBT’ Fans Go Wild Seeing This Iconic Cast ReunionBruce Glikas
In a world where fans have been able to see Jim Parsons and Iain Armitage play the same role at different stages of life, it definitely came as a surprise to see them together again for a special reason.
Jim is currently gracing the Broadway stage in the revival of Thornton Wilder’s award-winning play Our Town, playing the role of the Stage Manager. Well, Iain decided he’d support his fellow Sheldon by attending a preview performance on October 3, one week before Our Town‘s official opening night on October 10. After the show ended, he visited Jim backstage, which Iain documented on Instagram. What’s more, he couldn’t stop raving about how much he enjoyed watching Jim take on an iconic theater role.
“I know you’ll think I’m biased but that’s not why I loved seeing Our Town,” he passionately wrote in the caption. “Yes, @therealjimparsons is excellent and so is the rest of the cast. This play is so simple and at the same time so full of depth and meaning. I only had a couple of days in NY but I managed to see this twice and I’m pretty sure I will see it a third time. It’s beautiful and perfect.”
When fans realized The Big Bang Theory actor and the Young Sheldon star had a surprise reunion away from the cameras, folks couldn’t stop talking about seeing them together again.
“Sheldon Cooper and Sheldon Cooper,” one person wrote in the comments. “I remember you were so little when you first met him 😭,” another exclaimed. “The best in the field of acting, in my opinion 🔥,” a different follower added.
Some fans of Iain may remember, but before he was on Young Sheldon, he actually was an amateur theater critic back in the day. In fact, his X (formerly Twitter) account name is still @IainLoveTheatre, a nod to him sharing his thoughts about all things musicals and plays as a child.
Although we never actually saw Jim and Iain on screen together, it’s nice to see the two Sheldon Coopers reunited!
