Even Emmy-winning talk show hosts like Kelly Clarkson flub their words on television once in a while.
In a hilarious moment from the April 18 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the pop superstar, 41, accidentally made an NSFW sexual joke to Henry Golding about “meat” — and laughed so hard she had to get up from her chair.
The moment went down at the start of their interview, when the Australian actor asked Clarkson a question about New York City breakfast.
“This morning, I actually went for a pastrami sandwich. Is that a morning thing to do for New Yorkers?” Golding, 37, asked the American Idol alum, who told him the meal wasn’t exactly a classic breakfast choice in the Big Apple.
The Crazy Rich Asians star then continued, “I called my friend, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m having breakfast, and I’m getting a pastrami sandwich,’ and they’re like, ‘That is the strangest thing. That’s weird.’ Meat first thing in the morning, no good.”
“Well, steak and eggs. I don’t know. I don’t mind meat in the morning,” replied Clarkson — who quickly realized the latter sentence sounded dirty aloud and began to laugh uncontrollably, before getting up from her chair to take a lap.
“I mean, are you serious? Those are the words I used?” she said through laughter. “I was like ‘Did I just say that?’ It’s not a bad thing though!”

In a PEOPLE cover story interview earlier this year, Clarkson opened up about her decision to move to New York City with her kids, daughter River Rose, 9, and son Remington Alexander, 7 (whom she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, 47), for season 5 of her NBC talk show.
“I was very unhappy in L.A. and had been for several years. I needed a fresh start,” she said at the time. “We told NBC, ‘I’m not trying to sound ungrateful, I just can’t stay here anymore for my mental health; for me and my kids.’ They weren’t doing well either.”
Over the previous few years “I’d just been showing up and smiling and doing what I’m supposed to do,” added Clarkson. “But you can only compartmentalize so long until you break.”
