You could call it puppy love, but these two adorable friends just can’t seem to keep their paws off each other.
A duo of inseparable stray puppies have been warming hearts on social media after they were reportedly adopted by Buddhist nuns in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The larger pup is seen guarding a shrine within the temple while holding his companion in his paws.
Another image shows the dog in a Zen pose next to a Buddhist statue, suggesting that he is learning meditation from the masters.
The pair of dogs were apparently taken in by the temple after being left on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and given a new chance at life.
In response to the people, hundreds of comments overflowing with love for the canine friends flooded the social networking site Weibo.
“Since the dogs are now in the temple, they must meditate like the nuns,” one user commented.
Others criticized the puppies’ previous owners for abandoning them.
“I can’t understand how people can be so cruel. If they couldn’t take care of the dogs, they shouldn’t have gotten them in the first place!”
However, contrary chatter on social media has questioned the dogs’ suffering.
According to a source on Twitter, a monk from Bao Hoa Son Temple in Khanh Hoa Province rescued them.
“Those puppies were born at that temple in Vietnam, and the nuns taught them to stand and hug each other,” said Mira Eleonora Pantazopol Lordanescu, a linguist at Bucharest’s Faculty of Linguistics, painting a much more somber picture.
“There is no happy ending… the little black one died because they don’t have any type of veterinary treatment there for the animals they have,” maintained Lordanescu, who uses her Facebook account to expose alleged animal scams.
