WHY I LOVE THE CANE CORSO!!!

Despite the fact that this homeless dog was too ill to be rescued, Sophiane Nacer wanted to give him the best ‘end of life’ possible.
She promised that Hippo, an elderly stray with tumors, would only experience love after his death. “Even if only for a day,” Sophiane, the 19-year-old founder of Cayleb’s Kindred Senior Dog Rescue, told TODAY, Hippo would have the best last day ever.
Sophiane adopted Hippo and brought him home from the shelter after a five-day wait. Touching the poor dog’s skin ached. Sophiane was not sure how much Hippo could take because he was in so much pain.
All of her doubts vanished as she saw his tail wag. The ailing dog still stood a chance. He fought to feel love and happiness before departing this world.
So Sophiane took Hippo to Starbucks and ordered him a Puppuccino, a Starbucks secret menu item that dogs enjoy which is essentially a cup filled with lovely whipped cream.
The next day, Hippo was still enthusiastic, so Sophiane took him to a dog park to romp about. He enjoyed every minute of it! However, he had something to say to Sophiane.
The aging dog, in agony but optimistic, had a message for his new best friend. He was preparing to leave. He was overjoyed to be able to spend time with Sophiane, but he was fatigued and in pain, so it was time to say goodbye.
Sophiane had a vet euthanasia expert visit her home. The vet had prepared a roasted chicken for him, complete with sedatives.
He ate his farewell dinner as gently as possible, with Sophiane by his side, before going into a painless eternal slumber. This story is tragic in many ways, yet it also has a joyful ending. A dying dog who had only known sorrow was given the opportunity to spend the remainder of his little life feeling loved and cherished.
May all dogs learn how much they are loved before leaving this world! Rest in peace, Hippo. You were a beautiful young man.
