Meet Augie, the Tennessee-based Golden Retriever who has just turned 20 and officially holds the title of the world’s oldest living Golden Retriever. Augie has been living with her owners, Steve and Jennifer, since she was 14 years old, which is equivalent to 78 years in human age. Previously, she had lived in Nevada. Golden Retrievers generally have a lifespan of around 10-12 years and are prone to cancer. However, Augie has defied the odds and continues to enjoy life with her loving owners.
After a few years with August, it was evident that she was in excellent health and had an active lifestyle, leading everyone to believe that she would live a long life. Despite being 14 years old when they adopted her, her age was unknown. When asked about the secret to a dog’s longevity, Steve assumes it is due to good genes. August recently celebrated her 20th birthday, making her the oldest Golden Retriever in the world.
The kidnapping attempt was unsuccessful during the second stage. However, prompt medical attention and precautions helped maintain the victim’s stable condition and prevent it from worsening to the severe fourth stage. Steve mentioned that August may be a bit sluggish, but he still enjoys playing.
There are various things that Augie enjoys doing, such as jumping in puddles and spending quality time with her family while watching TV. Celebrating her 20th birthday is quite a milestone for Augie, as she now holds the title of the world’s oldest living golden retriever, as recognized by the Guinness Book of Records.
