see more: Robyn Dixon’s Time on ‘RHOP’ May Be Over – Many Fans Say Good Riddance
Robyn Dixon was heavily critiqued by ‘RHOP’ fans for seemingly not giving us much of anything in recent seasons.
Andy Cohen often reminds his The Real Housewives franchise cast members that they’re “on a reality show about your lives.” However, one of his longtime stars, Robyn Dixon of The Real Housewives of Potomac, didn’t get the memo.
Off-camera, Robyn publicly admitted that, after several seasons of allegations, her husband, Juan Dixon, cheated on her in 2020. According to Robyn, Juan and the anonymous woman communicated shortly after the couple became engaged for the second time in 2019.
While she claims she and Juan sorted out their issues off-camera, Robyn’s reveal upset fans who tune into the show to see what the women are going through in their day-to-day lives.
Robyn had the chance to redeem herself when RHOP’s eighth season aired on Bravo in November 2023. Unfortunately, she didn’t do so well defending her actions. With Candiace Dillard Bassett officially out for Season 9, the digital streets are saying Robyn could suffer the same fate.
Is Robyn Dixon fired from ‘RHOP’?
On March 24, 2024, RHOP’s Season 8 finale aired on Bravo. The following day, fans were stunned when Candiace announced she was “taking a break” from the series to pursue other opportunities. Not too long after (I believe it was literally an hour later), The JasmineBrand reported Robyn was the next one on the DMV-based show’s chopping block.
According to the outlet, Robyn, who has been a full-time Potomac Housewife since Season 1, left the show after filming for Season 8 wrapped. Robyn will reportedly be asked back to appear in future episodes, likely in a “friend” capacity.
Neither Bravo nor Robyn has confirmed she was fired from RHOP or left the show on her own accord. However, following the news of her possible departure, many fans expressed they wouldn’t miss her much after she neglected to share details about Juan’s affair on the show. Instead, the mother of two spilled the tea on her and Gizelle Bryant’s podcast, Reasonably Shady, and the pod’s Patreon account, stating the affair happened during the pandemic.
Many viewers demanded Robyn exit the series after choosing to air her business behind a paywall rather than the show that significantly helps pay her and Juan’s bills. Andy also grilled Robyn about her decision during a February 2023 Watch What Happens Live episode. When asked why she never discussed the infidelity on the show, Robyn said they worked through it privately, and she didn’t feel it was relevant to her Housewives role.
“It was so in the back of my mind,” she explained to Andy, adding the couple “dealt with it” and had “moved on from it.”
This isn’t the first time Robyn’s ‘RHOP’ future was threatened.
Fans of the show have discussed Robyn’s role on RHOP long before her news about Juan’s infidelity. For several years, many have criticized her for not having much of a storyline outside of her and Juan’s lengthy relationship and her friendship with Gizelle. In 2021, rumors began that Bravo may have agreed with Robyn’s critics.
When Monique Samuels announced her exit from RHOP in December 2020 following her explosive fight with Candiace Dillard-Bassett, fans wondered if Robyn, who had several altercations with Monique, would also leave the show. In January 2021, Robyn shut down the rumors and said she planned on returning to RHOP whenever production resumed.
“If or when RHOP returns, I am looking forward to being part of the new season and sharing my story with the viewers who have been supportive of my journey and the show,” Robyn said in a statement to People in January 2021.
While Robyn dodged getting fired in Season 6, her RHOP Season 8 future remains unknown. However, her extended WWHL interview will air after Part 3 of the RHOP Season 7 reunion.
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs new episodes on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
